Terminal Service (CD) Fee Restructuring Effective July 1     05/31/19

Effective July 1, 2019, United Cargo will implement a new structure for the terminal service (CD) fees we charge when we present paper or electronic documents to U.S. Customs for examination or when we provide verification of U.S. Customs clearance.

This realignment follows an extensive review of United Cargo's current CD fee levels and a thorough benchmarking of key industry competitors in the U.S. locations we serve.

Our U.S. stations will be aligned into three tiers as shown below. CD fees at the majority of our stations (Tier 3) will remain at the current $60.00 level. CD fees at the seven Tier 1 stations and eight Tier 2 stations will increase July 1.

Tier 1:
Terminal Service Fee: $90.00
Applicable Stations: EWR, IAD, JFK, LAX, ORD, SEA, SFO

Tier 2:
Terminal Service Fee: $70.00
Applicable Stations: ATL, BOS, DEN, DFW, HNL, IAH, MIA, SAN

Tier 3:
Terminal Service Fee: $60.00
Applicable Stations: All remaining stations

While fee levels are changing at Tier 1 and 2 locations, the following policies are not changing:
-- CD fees are assessed per AWB or freight forwarder's HAWB (for consolidated consignments).
-- CD fees are assessed per MAWB for warehouse transfers from one bonded facility to another.
-- A reduced CD fee of $25 will continue to apply, in all U.S. locations, for each freight forwarder's AWB representing the personal effects of a member of the U.S. Military.

We have carefully reviewed market conditions and determined that this restructuring will bring United Cargo's CD fee in line with current industry practice in the specified locations. United Cargo's competitive fee structure allows us to provide necessary services to our customers while recovering the increasing costs of operations.

If you have any questions about the changes described above, please contact your United Cargo Sales Representative or our Cargo Customer Contact Center. As always, we greatly appreciate your support and your business.
