Taking careers to a new altitude: Celebrating National Intern Day at United Cargo
By Kathryn McKean
As an intern working at United, you're more than a student—you're a member of the team! Interns at United have the chance to develop professional skills, network with leaders, and gain real-world experience by working on projects that actually have an impact on the business. This hands on approach and once-in-a-lifetime experience earned United Airlines a Handshake 2023 Early Talent Award, which celebrates the best employers for Gen Z careers.
In honor of National Intern Day, we wanted to celebrate our hardworking United Cargo interns. We’ve asked them to share what they’ve been up to this summer.

My favorite part is coming into the office and getting to have impromptu conversations with everyone around you. So many people at United have a passion for aviation and/or travel which unites us all. Being a part of a community that you get excited to see is certainly the best part about working for United.
Where was your favorite place you travelled to this summer?
My favorite place to travel has been Amsterdam. I went to some of the coolest museums and learned more about the amazing art and rich history that Amsterdam had to offer. I also got to go with some of my best friends who also work with United, which made the experience that much better.
