United Airlines launches historic direct flight to Morocco

United Airlines is making history by launching its first-ever direct flight from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Marrakesh Menara Airport (RAK) in Morocco. As the first U.S. airline to offer this direct route, United opens new horizons for cargo customers. This marks our fifth destination in Africa and our 38th across the Atlantic.

“This direct service streamlines logistics, reduces transit times, and enhances reliability, providing seamless access to the Moroccan market,” said United Cargo President Jan Krems. “With one of the most extensive and diversified networks in the industry, United continues to lead in offering innovative solutions for your cargo transportation needs.”

Starting October 24, United will commence service with direct flights from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Marrakesh Menara Airport (RAK) in Morocco. This route will operate three times weekly—on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays—using our Boeing 767-300 aircraft.

“Launching flights to Morocco presents a fantastic opportunity for United Cargo to expand into the North African region,” said Stephane Broquet, regional manager of sales partners in EMEIA. “By tapping into this market, we can leverage Morocco's significant export capabilities and the substantial cargo flows directed towards the U.S. This strategic move not only enhances our service offerings but also strengthens our presence in a region with considerable economic potential.”
