Update #4

The remnants of Hurricane Ida brought torrential rainfall and devastating floods to the mid-Atlantic area after making landfall in Louisiana earlier in the week. Both Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) in New Orleans, LA were affected by impact of the storm.

Below are updates from both stations:

  • Effective immediately, operations are resuming at EWR and service has returned to normal.
  • Cargo operations at MSY remain suspended until further notice due to damage sustained from Hurricane Ida. No freight or mail will move to, from or through MSY until this restriction is lifted.

Update #3

Torrential downpours with the remnants of Hurricane Ida have hit the mid-Atlantic area causing extensive flooding. As a result, we are temporarily imposing cargo restrictions at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).

Effective immediately, through Thursday, September 2, at 23:59 EDT, all inbound cargo is restricted at EWR. No freight or mail will move to, from or through EWR until this restriction is lifted.

We will continue to move outbound cargo on flights as weather permits, though there may be a delay. Any cargo currently in transit destined for EWR will be held at the upline station until the restriction is lifted.

Update #2

Hurricane Ida made landfall on Sunday as a dangerous Category 4 hurricane with winds of 150 mph. The storm caused extensive flooding, devastating wind damage, and power outages. As a result, we are extending cargo restrictions at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) in New Orleans, LA.

Effective immediately, all cargo operations at MSY are suspended until further notice due to damage sustained from Hurricane Ida. No freight or mail will move to, from or through MSY until this restriction is lifted.

Any freight currently in transit destined for MSY will be held at the upline station or rerouted at customer request. We will notify you when cargo operations have been restored.

Update #1

Hurricane Ida is expected to make landfall across the Louisiana Coast on Sunday afternoon. Ida will likely bring dangerous storm surge, potentially devastating winds, and flooding rainfall to the region. As a result, we are temporarily imposing cargo restrictions at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) in New Orleans, LA.

Effective Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 00:00 a.m. EDT through Tuesday, August 31 at 05:30 EDT, all inbound and outbound cargo is restricted at MSY.

Any cargo currently in transit destined for these locations will be held at the upline station until the restrictions are lifted. We will continue to monitor the weather as Ida makes landfall. The restrictions may be extended due to facility and operational impact from the storm.
