East Coast ice storm prompts new restrictions
A winter storm is expected to spread ice, sleet, and freezing rain across the Eastern U.S. on Friday, February 4. Due to the hazardous icy weather conditions, we are placing restrictions at several freight stations indicated below.
- Effective immediately through 13:00 EST Friday, February 4, all Perishables (PER), LifeGuard (LHO), Express (EXP), QuickPak (QPK), and TempControl (TC) TrustUA (HUM), QuickPak International (QPI), UASecure (AEV), and COVID vaccines (CVD) will be restricted to, from, and transferring through the following station:
- Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT)
- Effective 06:00 EST through 21:00 EST Friday, February 4, all Perishables (PER), LifeGuard (LHO), Express (EXP), QuickPak (QPK), and TempControl (TC) TrustUA (HUM), QuickPak International (QPI), UASecure (AEV) and COVID vaccines (CVD)will be restricted to, from, and transferring through the following stations on narrowbody and United Express aircraft:
- Bradley International Airport (BDL)
- Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)
- Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)
- John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
- LaGuardia Airport (LGA)
- Philadelphia International Airport (PHL)
- Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport (PVD)
All cargo will be held at the origin station until the restrictions have ended unless it has been rerouted at a customer’s request. Restricted shipments currently booked to arrive or depart during the restricted date range must be rebooked.
