In observance of the Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day holidays, several United Cargo freight facilities and trucking locations in the U.S. will modify their hours of operation.

In observance of the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday, several United Cargo freight facility and trucking locations will modify their hours of operation on Thursday, November 28.

Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall on the west coast of central Florida on Wednesday, October 9. In light of this, United Cargo is placing restrictions at the freight facilities at Tampa International Airport (TPA) and Orlando International Airport (MCO).

As previously communicated, the U.S. Customs Border Protection (CBP) recently updated its required Air Cargo Advance Screening (ACAS) Data Elements for air freight shipments traveling to or through the United States. While a firm effective date is pending, the new data elements, as required by the CBP, will also be required by United Cargo for shipping to the U.S. in the imminent future.

We are pleased to announce the opening of our new United Cargo freight facility at Cheddi Jagan International Airport (GEO) in Georgetown, Guyana.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recently updated its cargo description requirements for shipments into the U.S. that are too vague or unclear.

Effective immediately and until 05:30 CDT on Friday, September 13, the United Cargo freight facility at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) will remain closed due to hurricane conditions.

United Cargo is currently experiencing delays in trucking to/from Sao Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) due to airport administration issues.

In observance of the U.S. Labor Day holiday, several United Cargo freight facility locations will modify their hours of operation on Monday, September 2.

Due to extensive damage and flooding in the NE Florida region caused by Tropical Storm Debby, the United Cargo freight facility at Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) is closed until further notice. During the closure, we will be unable to accept all inbound and outbound cargo products.

Effective Monday August 5, 2024, United Cargo will be moving to a new facility at Indianapolis International Airport (IND).

Due to recent developments in the Middle East, effective immediately United is suspending service to/from Newark (EWR) and Tel Aviv (TLV) until further notice.

A third-party software outage impacted computer systems worldwide, including at United. We are resuming some flights but expect schedule disruptions to continue throughout Friday.

Hurricane Beryl made landfall on the eastern Texas coast early this morning. As a result, we are temporarily placing full cargo restrictions at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston.

In observance of the Fourth of July holiday, several United Cargo freight facility locations will modify their hours of operation on Thursday, July 4.

Effective immediately, United Cargo will be extending the hours for our Terminal C QuickPak counter at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).

In observance of the U.S. Memorial Day holiday, several United Cargo freight facility locations in the U.S. will modify their hours of operation on Monday, May 27 as detailed below.

Effective immediately, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) clarified its messaging requirements for shipments with vague cargo descriptions. The CBP is aiming to address descriptions of cargo that are too vague or unclear (i.e., gift, daily necessities, accessories, parts, and consolidated, among many others). Consolidated is only acceptable at the master bill level.

Effective February 29, 2024, United Cargo will be enforcing new customs requirements to comply with the UAE National Advance Information Center (NAIC). On or after this date, air freight shipments traveling to, from or through the UAE, will now require the 6-digit Harmonized Commodity Codes (HS Codes). In order to process shipments, the air waybill (AWB), consolidation manifest, or FWB/FHL messages for all MAWBs and HAWBs will need to include 6-digit HS codes.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) mandated inspections of 737 MAX 9 aircraft operated by U.S. airlines. This decision follows a recent pressurization incident with an Alaska Airlines 737 MAX 9 aircraft. As a result, United has temporarily suspended service on MAX 9 aircraft to conduct thorough inspections. We are actively inspecting the aircraft which may result in some cancellations or delays.

In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, several United Cargo freight facility locations will modify their hours of operation on Thursday, November 23.

In observance of the Labor Day holiday, several United Cargo freight facility locations will modify their hours of operation on Monday, September 4.

In observance of the Fourth of July holiday, several United Cargo freight facility locations will modify their hours of operation on Tuesday, July 4.

In observance of the U.S. Memorial Day holiday, several United Cargo freight facility locations will modify their hours of operation on Monday, May 29 .

Effective April 1, 2023, Prosegur will provide cargo handling services for United Cargo shipments at Hartford’s Bradley International Airport (BDL). Prosegur offers integrated security solutions around the globe and has extensive experience in the aviation industry. They will bring their customer-focused expertise in cargo handling to United Cargo.

Effective March 29, 2023, Air General will provide cargo handling for all United Cargo shipments at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). Air General is a dedicated cargo/freight handling and warehouse company based in the United States with more than 34 facilities nationwide.

Effective March 1, 2023, the European Union (EU) is introducing new customs requirements. Specifically, air freight shipments traveling to or through the EU, Switzerland, Norway, and Northern Ireland, will require additional information prior to shipping. This is to comply with the EU’s Import Control System 2 (ICS2), a new, large-scale customs electronic import system intended to enhance safety initiatives and simplify information exchanges.

A major winter storm and cold blast will affect many areas in the central United States. The strengthening storm is expected to bring major snowfall, blizzard conditions, and freezing temperatures. As a result, we are placing restrictions at DEN and ORD.

In observance of the Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day (Canada), New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day holidays, some United Cargo freight facility locations in the U.S. and Canada will modify their hours of operation .

Effective immediately and through December 18, we are restricting all inbound and outbound shipments at Auckland Airport (AKL) due to the nationwide jet fuel shortage in New Zealand. If you have cargo in transit with a destination of AKL, the shipments will be held at the upline location or rerouted at your request.

In celebration of Thanksgiving, some United Cargo freight facility locations in the U.S. will modify their hours of operation on Thursday, November 24.

Hurricane Ian is expected to impact parts of the Florida Peninsula beginning Tuesday, September 27. The hurricane is predicted to bring damaging winds, excessive rainfall, power outages, and a storm surge that could cause major flooding. In response to the threat, United Cargo is imposing restrictions at selected airports.

All U.S. and Canada trucking terminals will be closed on Monday, September 5, 2022, due to the Labor Day holiday. All terminals will resume normal operations on Tuesday, September 6.

In celebration of the Labor Day holiday, several United Cargo freight facility locations in the U.S. will modify their hours of operation on Monday, September 5.

In observance of the U.S. Fourth of July holiday, several United Cargo freight facility locations will modify their hours of operation on Monday, July 4.

In observance of the U.S. Memorial Day holiday, several United Cargo freight facility locations will modify their hours of operation on Monday, May 30.

Effective immediately and until further notice, we are placing restrictions on all outbound air shipments at Charlotte Douglas international Airport (CLT).

Effective May 9, United Cargo will be moving to a new import facility at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) located at 120 Frontage Road and operated by AGI.

Effective April 22, 2022, and until further notice, the United Cargo freight facility at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is reducing its operating hours due to staffing issues.

Effective immediately and until further notice, the United Cargo freight facility at Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) is temporarily restricting all inbound shipments requiring cooler or freezer storage and all dangerous goods shipments due to staffing issues associated with the COVID outbreak in Shanghai.

A winter storm is expected to spread ice, sleet, and freezing rain across the Eastern U.S. on Friday, February 4. Due to the hazardous icy weather conditions, we are placing restrictions at several freight stations.

Winter Storm Landon is expected to spread snow, sleet, ice, and freezing rain across the central U.S. on Groundhog’s Day, February 2, 2022. Due to the hazardous weather conditions, we are placing restrictions at several freight stations.

A major winter storm with the potential for blizzard conditions, heavy snow, and coastal flooding is threatening the Northeast U.S. this weekend. In anticipation of the severe weather, we are imposing restrictions at several stations.

A winter storm is bringing freezing rain and snow to parts of the southeast U.S. As a result, we are restricting all cargo in and out of Richmond International Airport (RIC) and Norfolk International Airport (ORF) effective Friday, January 21 from 18:00 EST through 06:00 EST Monday, January 24 2022.

Winter Storm Izzy is currently tracking through the Midwest and is expected to sweep across parts of the South and East through the holiday weekend. The storm is expected to bring heavy snow, ice and wind to the Eastern parts of the country. In anticipation of the severe weather, we are imposing restrictions at several stations.

A major winter storm is expected to hit the eastern United States within the next 24 hours bringing blizzard-like conditions and heavy snow. In response, United Cargo is announcing restrictions.

Effective immediately until January 12, the United Cargo freight facility at the Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) will have reduced operating hours due to staffing issues.

Effective immediately until further notice, the United Cargo freight facility at the Kahului Airport (OGG) in Maui, Hawaii will have reduced operating hours due to staffing issues.

A quick-hitting winter storm brought heavy snow and dangerous conditions to the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic region. As a result, United Cargo’s trucking operations are experiencing delays.

Effective immediately and until further notice, the United Cargo freight facility at Nashville International Airport (BNA) will be temporarily closed due to staffing issues. As a result, all inbound and outbound cargo and mail is restricted. Our Cargo Customer Service will proactively reach out to customers with shipments in transit.

During the period of December 28 through January 7, the United Cargo freight facility at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) will have reduced operating hours due to staffing issues.

During the period of December 27 through December 31, the United Cargo freight facility at the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) will have reduced operating hours due to staffing issues.

In observance of the Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day (Canada), New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day holidays, some United Cargo freight facility locations in the U.S. and Canada will modify their hours of operation.

Effective December 1, 2021, United Cargo is pleased to announce that Skyway Aviation Handling Company Plc. (SAHCO) will begin providing cargo handling for United Cargo at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (LOS).

Effective December 1, 2021, United Cargo is pleased to announce that Evergreen Air Cargo Services Corp. (EGAC) will begin providing cargo handling for United Cargo at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE).

Effective immediately, all outbound shipping restrictions have been lifted and normal hours of operation resume at the United Cargo freight facility at John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH) in Columbus, OH. We have ensured that our vendor now has the right resources in place to support our customers.

United Cargo’s freight facilities in the northeast U.S. are experiencing extreme weather and flooding due to a nor’easter storm on the Atlantic Coast. In response, United Cargo is announcing restrictions.

Effective October 25, 2021, and until further notice, all outbound cargo is restricted at the United Cargo Missoula Montana Airport (MSO) freight facility due to qualified staffing issues. This includes all QuickPak shipments. We expect these restrictions to be temporary until the issues are resolved. All inbound freight will continue to be accepted at MSO.

Effective October 25 - 29, 2021, the United Cargo freight facility at John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH) in Columbus, OH will have adjusted hours due to qualified staffing limitations.

Effective October 11, 2021, and until further notice, all outbound cargo is restricted at John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH) in Columbus, OH due to qualified staffing issues. This includes all General Freight, Express Freight, QuickPak, LifeGuard, TrustUA, and UASecure shipments.

Effective immediately and until further notice, the United Cargo freight facility at Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) will be closed on Saturdays due to staffing issues. We expect this to be temporary until the staffing issues are resolved.

Effective October 1, 2021, United Cargo will be moving to a larger facility at McCarran International Airport (LAS) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Alliance Ground International will continue to be our cargo handler at the new address.

Tropical Storm Nicholas made landfall Monday night on Gulf Coast of Texas and is bringing dangerous winds, power outages, and extensive flooding to the area. Due to these weather conditions, we are experiencing impacts to our cargo operation at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and Customer Service Center in Houston.

Effective immediately, the United Cargo freight facility at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) has expanded their hours of operation.

Due to the pandemic, United Cargo temporarily adjusted the pickup and drop-off locations last summer for our QuickPak and LifeGuard services at Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD).

Due to the changing business environment brought on by the COVID-19 crisis, we are making adjustments to two of our stations; John Wayne Airport (SNA) in Orange County, CA, and Calgary International Airport (YYC) in Calgary, Canada.
